As you lay in that bed,
Trying to find your last words,
I’m breaking down inside
Not wanting to hear a last goodbye.
But it’s not what was heard,
It’s how it all ended;
I’m not fighting the timing,
Just wishing I could say a last goodbye.
Something’s missing to this day,
Knowing he’ll never hear,
What I wish I could’ve said;
A completed final goodbye
